Gen & Marcus is the result of a fruitful meeting between two jazz-trained instrumentalists and composers animated by an experimental curiosity and a love for folk music. Rooted in traditional and folk culture, their violin-guitar duo resonates like a natural acoustic poetry. Produced by Tommy Gauthier (Yves Lambert Trio, Richard Desjardins, Robert Charlebois), their first album, WARDEN, is remarkable for its touching melodies, its well-crafted arrangements, and for the exceptional complicity between the two artists.  Gen & Marcus' willingness to honor the folkloric tradition without being limited to the genre contributes to their distinct sound. One that appeals to jazz and folk fans, but not only.
